Pre School Blues

Lately my little Katelyn has been struggling to go to school. She used to love it and couldn't wait to go and play with her friends. Every morning she asks, " Do I go to school today?" Depending on the day of the week, the answer will be yes.  Immediately big crocodile tears begin to roll down her cheeks. "But I don't want to go to school!" She yells.  I know baby girl but you have to in order to be smarter.  I ask her why she doesn't like school anymore and she replies, " school is boring".  Ummm I have heard that one before from a little boy named Nathan.  However, it's not the same coming from Katelyn.  She says the boys aren't being nice to her and the boys are punching her.  Sigh,,, I don't think the boys are beating her up.  I do think that the boys she onced called her best friends are out growing her friendship,  and my little K has a broken heart for the very first time.  You see at age four little boys and girls begin to form their little cliques based on their sex.  They identify better with boys or if they are girls they group up with girls.  Maybe the boys are now tag teaming and she can't handle it. What ever it is I hope it passes soon.  Every time I drop her off now she gets so sad.  That's the downfall of wearing your heart on your sleeve.  Keep your head up Katelyn, the boys will come chasing you once again.
