Katelyn, you are better than the boys

My little K continues to be down about the boys in her class.  I sat her down and had a very heart to heart talk with her. I said, "Katelyn, look at mommy, you are better than the boys. They may be stronger and faster and bigger, but YOU are smarter." Don't ever let a boy make you feel bad. Boys are like that. Mommy doesn't let them make her feel bad.  She looks at me with those huge brown eyes and ask, "Are the boys mean to you at work?" I said , "yes" baby girl but I am better than they are. You see you aren't always going to be this little.  And your size doesn't matter. What matters is what is in your brain and how smart you are.  As the night went on we sat in her brother's room and read a book with out hesitating  she looks at me and and firmly says, " I 'm  better than he is, " referring to her brother, ouch.  But I see she is getting the message.
